Thanks for hearing me out Tony. As I said I'm a fan of including commenting as part of the reputation and I still think its a key to making the site succeed because a change that might reduce the number of comments will be a strong negative. I just feel that with whatever change recently occurred benefited me a lot more than anyone and even hurt some. Don't get me wrong. I've had a goal to keep moving up the ladder and know that commenting is my strength over photography, but I still need to be decent in both ways. I just feel bad to see me jump past three people I respect overnight instead of doing it over weeks of "friendly competition". So I'm just wondering if something happened to my specific stats. Thanks always for your work and sorry to be a thorn at this time.
Tony.... something is wrong. Something is wrong with the calculation of reputation points. Last time I looked I was in 5th place and I haven't done anything to change that. I've been a fan of the new system for many reasons, but this is clearly not right because there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that my photography is near even 5th place on this site... let alone 2nd. I'm embarrassed to be shown as 2nd when I know I don't deserve it. Can you explain what happened in the last three or four days that would make my points jump? I know a week ago I was 52 pts out of 2nd and after gfa got 1st place for the week I was then about 110 points away from 2nd. I just don't see how I could have passed him after his well deserved finish. I appreciate all you do, but something is clearly not right here.
I have the right to grant each photo one point. It's not fair from my point of view. Tell you why. There are many nice pictures worth a point for try, because they are in theme. The following is a category of good shots, well technically released, but are "dry" (do not know how to say otherwise). Finally are the photos that "leaves you stunned," those that make you say "wow". In these conditions, all three categories of photo worth something. How can I give just one point to a photo of the first category,and another in the third category that I mentioned above? Is not fair. Probably three-point system would have been better. If I could give it one, two or three points depending than I like a picture and depending on where they think it deserves to hold the contest. What do you think?
Don't think statistics are refreshing every 3 days. BTW...The website says stats are refreshed everyday.
