gfa, I was not able to do selective cloning with LR either. I just removed all of the colors except green for the results I obtained with the shot in my gallery. I was successful in adding a little my dynamic to the sky. When you have another moment, please take a look at my attempt with the jeeps in my gallery and let me know your thoughts. Again, thanks.
thanks for the come back gfa...everytime I get into LightRoom I learn something new and this shot provided a fair amount of learning. I was even able to show Mangoes something new and that is highly unusual! When you said you slid this and that, I began doing the same in the controls on the lower right of LR and came up with the results. Sometimes an old guy just needs a little encouragement. Hope things continue going well for you in the quitting business.
I just attempted to follow some of your directions with my shot and using LightRoom (it's in my gallery next to the original)...please give me some added pointers when you have a moment...thanks much!
The green color is all natural, no variance with all the other colors removed. I admit to know very little about the process and avoided investing the time this past week to learn more...probably in a bit of a funk. This too shall pass. When you shoot your stunning bird shots do you use focus lock/tracking lock or whatever it is with your Canon to obtain such stark detail with the bird? I have this profound obsession to be able to capture a beautiful bird in flight shot for some reason…and may pester your socks off until I and feel confident in doing so. Just please tell me to back off if I get too intrusive.

Congrats Ol Kid on top three Well Done!
