I agree with jack's suggestion...had it been at all possible. The rider appears as though he is training the horse to do a specific move which likely would truly enhanced the shot for me. Is there a little coloration in this black and white???
Interesting shot, your capture of the rider's action would be greatly amplified by including the horse's head and possibly the planted foot that's required for this maneuver.

there was a fence there. i didn't like it so i cropped it out... i know i wish the same.
This reminds me of an old cowboy movie. I like the coloring you used but it's a little soft and I would have liked to have seen the lower portion of the horse's head, but nice job.
