Some birds are so interesting to look at. This is one of them. Look at how he has his head tipped, like he's checking you out. I think slr has a good idea about making this a portrait shot rather than a landscape shape. It would really emphasize the length of his neck. I like him posed in front of the dull grey background (same color you also find in his feathers). Nice shot.
Beautiful capture. Thanks for letting us know the species (and making the correction to that). That is something I'm liking very much about this week - learning about a lot of new animals. You did a great job with the photo. For me, centered is no problem. Wondering how it would be if you cropped the sides to make a "tall" shot, in which case you could put her/him a bit to the side.
