Thank you again for the comments. I didn't notice the horizon tilt until you just pointed it out! I was so set on getting the boat in frame that I lost sight of it. It was a tricky lighting day, "hazy" as previously mentioned by slrcreative... I imagine I could fix that, but I'm rather "old school", and do what I can to avoid editing.

One of my favorites this week.

Interesting shot, symbol-wise, but two things jump out at me: (1) the horizon is tilted, and (2) the boat is totally in shadow with not much to see on it. But both of these things can be easily corrected in image editing, whether Photoshop or other. Those fixes would make it a better photo in my view.

Probably not the best photographic result in my opinion. But I know how haze can have such an effect. However, I really like this shot for several reasons. The symbol is as powerful and universally recognizable as any I can think of. I love the action with the rescue boat. I like that I can spot other symbols in small detail as I look closely around the shot. I count three flags, and perhaps two crosses. Okay now... if you can imagine what I don't like about this shot the most - in terms of technique - what would it be? Its something I have great difficulty with myself.
