Thank you for all the encouraging comments. I think I just got lucky on this one. I didn't think about framing, rules of 3, or composition, for that matter! I just love taking pictures of flowers! I enjoy the textures and color and always love to capture different variations of light. I'm glad you all enjoyed it - and thanks for voting! ;)
I think to crop or not is a personal like or dislike, I think it is perfect the way it is, great shot lots of tones of Red blurred and focussed, well done voted
I like this shot. It was taken at an unusual angle for flowers and I feel that as it is cropped I feel I am right there with you looking at that specific flower while all others are not in my focus or train of thought. Very nice.
I'm not in favor of cropping. Odd numbers are better than even in design. Although the flower on the left is not complete, it is almost sharp in focus, and although the yellow flower on the right is out of focus, it is about at the same level and the color catches your eye, completing the threesome. If you crop, I think it should be cropped from both sides which will leave an odd number design. Of course you all might view this comment as baloney.... LOL. If so, I'm off to eat a sandwich. :)
I love flowers too and this is so beautiful. I see what the others mean by cropping the left side to remove the partial flower, however, if you had done that the very tip of the main flower's petals would also have been clipped. So I don't know. Great clarity and so nice to look at!
Beautiful photo with tons of potential. I just zoomed in and did a minor crop of the flower on the left to see what others are referring to and can now see their point and the value of their suggestions. Beautiful colors and crisp focus on the leading flower are very appealing to me and enjoyable to zoom in on and explore. kudos!
I disagree with Suz. I think a smaller f-stop would have kept the color in the background but blurred more of the detail so that it didn't compete with your main subject as much. Also, might have moved the flower on the left which also distracts from your main flower.
Beautiful clarity on the flower with just the right amount of DOF for the background. I'm a color freak, as everyone on this site knows, so it's not surprising for me to say this photo makes my eyes dance. :)

This looked a lot more vibrant when I uploaded it, but I love how crisp the edges are on the petals.

Absolutely beautiful and added to my favorites for the flowers this week.

Lots of colors and flowers. Might have got more of the "face" of the flower in the shot but you've got alot to look at here. Good luck!
Nice colours and clarity.Maybe having a single flower without the partial flower on the left would improve the composition.
