This is great, I do agree with Medina that a portrait would be perfect here. I can put my son, daughter or myself in that boy's shoes and can feel what Irish is saying, (she likes hinnie shots anyway!)
Lenscap1 this picture is one of my favorites. I'm glad it brought you back to a special place. Invoking feelings memories, inspiring and taking people on a journey is one of the best things about being a photographer.
This shot really pulls at my old heart strings! I agree with the cropping out of the grass and it would have been nice to have had the sun at the young boy's back and on the face of the beautiful horse...and a ton of other things perhaps, but the bottom line is...this is one fine capture with profound emotional impact for some of us, but especially for me!!! Bravo!
nice shot and color's, with the boy's shirt and the color of the horse. voted.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I see your point Medina the green kind of draws your eye away. I have a tendency to over crop sometimes. This is my first time posting here so I was sure what to expect.
I love that you got this shot of the little boy from behind. He looks as if he's in deep conversation with his friend and the horse looks like he's actually listening! I like your composition and very nice colors! Love this!

Great shot. Love the emotion and feeling in this image. The placement throws me off a little but otherwise a good shot.

Almost like a Rockwell! Vote!
I try a portrait crop ( to eliminate about a quarter of the right-you look). Love this shot!
