Thanks LongLens and Bear, I am really enjoying the camera and taking a lot of pictures. I appreciate the advice of taking the moon out of the center of the picture and will keep that in mind next time.
I agree with moving the moon out of the center. good luck with the D5100. that's what I shoot with. I love it and am sure you will too. when you can, buy a 55-300mm nikon lens. it really is helpful.
I agree with MusselCove that moving the moon out of center would improve the image, IMHO. Have fun with you new camera and remember take lots of images. Vote

@MusselCove~ Thank you! I normally get up around 5am for work,but mostly to let my two dogs out and let them run around the yard before I get ready. I saw the moon that morning and ran inside to grab my camera. I always loved taking pictures and just bought a Nikon d5100 because I would love to learn and get more involved with photograhy.
Good for you to be up and shooting at 5 am. That's worthy of my vote! Might try it another time placing the sun in a 3rds position and the silhouetted brush other than where it splits the image in half. I like your idea. Vote!
