hey Mangoes, it was great fun helping you compose this shot and watching your persistence! Given so many excellent suggestions, I can't wait for you to ask for another try with this shot. First off though, I have to go reload another box of 44 mags...that's 50 rounds and snaps. lol Luv ya'
Gfa, it was colored water. Not ever having done anything like this before I didn't know that force of the flow would knock the color out of the liquid. I felt pretty lucky that the bullet nicked the ring from under the lid and off from the neck of the bottle and I caught it in the air. You are right, the background, the shooting range, was pretty light.
Action shots are always cool. A lot of the splatter is getting lost in the light background, it would have helped to have shadows or a darker background to bring out more of the splash. Was this carbonated soda you shook up or a colored solution you made?

Thanks everyone for the comments. Talegi I used a great lens at a safe distance and I hired a good shot :-)
I've had some fun shooting like this... that is with my .38 Special, not with my camera. How did you capture this action without creating an unsafe shooting range?
Nice broken shot... and nice shot shot and fantastic action shot. I am amazed at this. And how on earth did that ring pop off the bottle while the lid is still in place? I'll bet this took a few tries to get it. I think I can see you in the reflections. Is that a flash? I like your depth of field to.
submitter, you've done "Dirty Harry" proud with your entry! love your placement of the bullet in the bottle...I'm sure it's right where the shooter aimed??? I like your unique spin on this week's topic. kudos to you on your effort and your entry!
I love the color of the what is that water? and how the Lid is still intact but the ring's totally off. lol..to funny. looks like black cherry pop. ha ha. did it taste good? Early Votes
