In vekor's defense, when it comes to light and dark, day and night are not split evenly between 6 AM & 6 PM all year long. For night photography the definition I found is as follows: Night photography refers to photographs taken outdoors between dusk and dawn. Night photographers generally have a choice between using artificial light and using a long exposure, exposing the scene for seconds, minutes, and even hours in order to give the film or digital sensor enough time to capture a usable image. With the progress of high-speed films, higher-sensitivity digital image sensors, wide-aperture lenses, and the ever-greater power of urban lights, night photography is increasingly possible using available light.

@vektor - sorry about the time thing. I just went in and fixed the time on my camera. Never thought to do this, I was not set for New York; however, I do not like to have my integrity questioned. It is not important to me to win any contest. Naturally, I do not think most of us on here are into that. I am here to learn how to be a better photographer and to enjoy the fellowship and the talents of other people. In my defense, (BTW- I have a masters in Geology) the date is correct, I checked. This would make it two days after the summer solstice (June 21 - a little over 15 hours of daylight) when this picture was taken. From the location of the sun, I would guestimate it to be approximately between 8 and 8:30. Technically, evening starts at 6PM.Just saying. This is not the moon due to the fact that on that date, it was in the waxing crescent phase it rose at 9:43 AM and set at 11:14PM. If evening shots are to be taken between a specific time, this should be specified. Thanks for listening.
Lovely place to be on a moonlit night. I love the reflection spread all the way across the lake. I see a bit of noise but this is very well composed. Great job!

Came back and saw that this was not the moon. I like it anyway. Very pleasing to my eye. Voted
Lovely composition. I like the detail in the upper third and the long reflection of moon light moving down to the bottom.

This is no night-shot, also judging by the date and time of the picture.
