How'd you get the smoke to be so opaque in areas? I am excited to hear how this was achieved as well...

I'm trying to visualize exactly what you did with the placement of mirror and lamp. I didn't think it could possibly be a light painting with those the thin lines coming to an abrupt stop...all done in such a short period of time. I sure would love to have you post a photo of your setup so we can all see how it was done. Thanks. Great photo.

thanks all ,, its not light painitng ,, its just a RED SMOKE ,, like hmm that of perfume sticks the light source used here was a desk lamp as i don have an external flash but i found that if u put the desk lamp infront of an mirror ,, and the smoke is inbetween ,, u almost double the power of that light ,, a dark background is used to contrast the smoke ao it becomes clear

Beautiful and I love the symmetry! I don't understand light painting at all and will probably never try it so I'm no expert. Just want to say I love this!

Very interesting that you did this with a zoom lens and with a relatively fast shutter speed. Tells me whatever your light subject is was moving pretty fast. The mirroring is an interesting effect too Good luck.

I played around with light painting this past week as I attempted to compose my entry...result for me??? no success, especially when I compare it to your beautiful shot. Great job! Bravo.

Beautiful, did you use a real mirror or do it with software?
