I do agree this is one of the top photos this week, but would like to share a little experiment I did with this to see if it was just me. As good as it is something caught my eye so I showed this along with 4 or 5 others I thought were at the top to a couple people with a pretty good eye for photos "just to show them the quality here". Both gave this a WOW, but had me come back to it a couple times to study and felt something was just off, one even studied it some more that night but couldn't figure out what he was seeing so I shared my theory. I think you added to much sharpening, the fence and barbed wire edges are a bit to harsh and it also increased the noise in the white areas. I'm not sure why you were shooting a bright scene at a higher ISO resulting in a very high shutter speed, lowering both would have helped cut noise levels and maybe even the need to bump up the sharpness so much. You still did manage to get excellent exposure of the snow and haze with great detail, it just could have been even better. I do like it a whole lot, good luck.
I love the light of the sun on the posts and the soft haze in the background. Someone was really ingenious in figuring out how to attach the barbed wire to the post on the right! Beautiful shot!
I like the cropping with the sky. Its not a distraction to the beautifull lighting and composition used to capture a full landscape, photograph that includes a beautifully captured fence. Very good photo.
This almost looks like the country I grew up in back in Old Wyoming...burrrrrr! This is a beautiful shot and is a joy to zoom in and pan around on. I do have to agree with Mangoes with the crop of the pole and I may also have cropped just a bit of the top to eliminate the sliver of sky in order to give full attention to the masterful job you did with capturing the fence...but that's just me. Bravo on your entry and best of luck this week!
I love the light and the mood that it creates. The barbs look tack sharp. The pole to the left of the tree is a distraction to me but over all a beautifully composed capture.

The contrast of the barbed wire against the snow and the backlighting on the fence posts make this outstanding!

Great shot submitter. I am reluctant to agree with cropping suggestions cause its so good as is. Early votes.
