Vector, coming from you...good input. With 2.8 and my 50mm, I was getting too much blur. I wanted detail on as much of berry as possible. I literally had almost zero light except for a small table lamp far away and at ISO 640, the noise was very very minimal. I tried 3 berries, slices, etc and went with this to keep it simple. Thanks again. I love your work so I know you've got a keen eye for input and shot parameters. Thank you and thank all who've commented.
Classical, strawberries and cherries are best representatives for red fruits. You could have gone for f/2.8 for smaller shutter speed and more detail on the texture (also ISO-200). I would have chosen a different background color because black gives you a lot of noise at higher ISO values. An ideea for the composition could be to place a slice of the strawberry next to the whole one to expose also the inner texture. Overall great shot... voted

Suz...just a reading light (pointing away from my lunch), a high ISO, camera on tripod and a long shutter speed - OH...and a trip to the grocery store to find the perfect berry (had to pay dearly).
