Bear - I never could have guessed! Submitter - I've wanted to throw my 2 cents in the pot so... I actually liked the original a little more because of the open feeling of the sea, this seams a bit more cramped and seeing you can't just re-shoot... My suggestion would be to go with a pano crop leaving as much of the sky as possible and removing most of the dark foreground with just enough to anchor the base of the frame, (and rotation for the horizon). Although the main focal point wouldn't be on a 1/3 intersection, it would be firmly along the bottom third and off center. The panoramic would give a larger sense of space, (as far as the eye can see). I wouldn't suggest changing your entry, but you may want to try it to see what it looks like. The colors are great and I could set myself right in her place.
Another sunset! Nice! Wish horizon was straight too. You've got a GREAT shot here. Please don't get discouraged. I really LOVE the way the clouds are contrasted. Positioning the sunset with the viewer takes skill. Good job! Shot's like this don't just happen. Ya gotta have some skill. Good luck!
Interesting composition with nice silhouette. My suggestion would be to straighten the horizon line. An easy way to see if it is level is to zoom in and then scroll up so the edge of the water meets the edge of the page. That way you can see how far out of level it is. Images with water as the horizon need special attention because our brain knows water has to be level. Hope this helps and good luck.
I think this image is beautiful, I personally would have moved the subject out of the blown out/brightness of the sun to the exceptional colors of the sky to the right and straighten the horizon, to me it would then be an unquestionable 'WOW' image. Still in my top 5 this week! Voting later

The rule of thirds is huge, especially on a photography site like this. It just flew over my head when I submitted this. I definitely have the original submission on my computer still.thanks for the vote!
I like this version better, but remember that it is always what you like is the way it should be taken and processed. Whatever best relates to what YOU were trying to achieve when you composed the image should be the final product. I really like your idea which provided me with a thoughtful viewing of your image. I liked the first one also. Voted

Nice shot! Of course the obvious ... the horizon. Otherwise love the colors. I'm a sucker for sunsets/sunrises too.

i'm curious now. I like this shot and it makes me want to climb in the scene and sit down, but I missed the first issue of it.
