GreatPhotoRace.com aims to help all kinds of photographers unleash their creative potential by means of a weekly competitive arena centered around crowd-sourced topics.
Great Photo Race (GPR) is an ongoing opportunity for professional and amateur photographers alike to show off their best work to the widest audience--with a competitive, and rewarding, twist.
GPR allows photography fans to help choose the best* photos each week through a voting system on the site. The photos with the most votes--or Boosts--are highlighted on GPR.
GPR was launched in July 2011 by an amateur photographer and computer programmer named Tony (who now functions as the guy in the back room keeping the site online!). What began as a self-improvement project for his own photography, soon became a website community concept where an audience of others decides what photos are best.
GPR is designed to bring talented photographers together in search of tips, techniques and feedback that generally support the professional and amateur photographer. With some boosting and commenting thrown in to kick it up a notch, it's time to join the Great Photo Race and snap to it!
*GPR is by no means an editorial or judging body of submitted photos--all judging of photos is done by a broad community of photo enthusiasts, admirers and even other photographers. We believe this group is growing into the most helpful and knowledgeable panel of photo judges on the web.
